NeMax® FES for Gluteus Maximus & Hip Extension
Targeted neuromuscular stimulation for the gluteal complex—supporting hip extension, pelvic stability, posture, and gait propulsion.
What is neMAX®?

neMAX® is a focused functional electrical stimulation (FES) device developed to activate and strengthen the gluteus maximus and surrounding gluteal muscles. By delivering timed stimulation, neMAX® supports improved hip extension, pelvic stability, stance control, and forward propulsion during gait.

Product Overview

neMAX® delivers phase aligned stimulation to the gluteal muscles with parameters that can be tailored for intensity, timing, and duty cycle to support effective muscle contractions while maintaining user comfort. This targeted activation helps reinforce strength and endurance of the gluteal complex, which plays a key role in posture, hip extension, and efficient gait mechanics. neMAX® is designed for integration into therapeutic programs and daily functional training.

Who neMAX® Helps

neMAX® is suitable for adults who experience weakness or deconditioning of the gluteal muscles or have difficulty generating hip extension and maintaining pelvic stability. It is particularly helpful for individuals with conditions such as stroke (CVA), traumatic brain injury (TBI), incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI), multiple sclerosis (MS), cerebral palsy (CP), aging related muscle weakness, or other musculoskeletal or neurological conditions that affect posture and gait.

Key Benefits

  • Assists hip extension and enhances pelvic stability during functional movements
  • Supports upright posture, stance control, and forward propulsion during gait
  • Complements rehabilitation tasks such as sit‑to‑stand transitions, step initiation, stair climbing, and balance drills
  • Integrates seamlessly with other lower‑limb systems like neWALK and neWALK+ to provide a comprehensive rehabilitation pathway
